Antique

Robert Cohen is a master craftsman who caringly restores antique furniture using a variety of traditional techniques. He grew up in Alexandria, Egypt, surrounded by fine antique furniture that his discerning father collected over many years in Alexandria's heyday. After spending time in Paris and New York, he arrived in Israel in 1971 where he completed his studies in wood work. He then went to the United Kingdom to learn specialized antique furniture restoration techniques from master craftsmen.

In 1987, Robert became the head of Israel Museum's Wood Restoration Department where he maintained and restored antique furniture,  frames, wooden Judaica pieces, period rooms, and old synagogues.
